Klem has written this fantastic descriptive recount that describes our Art day with Rei Hendry. We loved the way Klem painted a picture in the readers mind.
The Art day.
It was just a normal morning Sun beaming; people playing cricket and soccer .Then all of a sudden the Bell rang. When we came inside, Miss Hehir had a mysterious grin on her face. “O.K.” Miss Hehir said, “Were doing art all morning.”. “YYYAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!”Bellowed the class. “Calm down. Come and line up.”. Everyone raced to the door in a line but when we got there, we were amazed to see junk. Out of all the things we could’ve had; paint, clay, canvas. We had to have junk. The artist that was called Rei. She had murky red hair up to her chin, wrinkled face, dark green Eyes and a cheerful smile. “Hello! Sit down everyone.” Said Rei. “Today we are doing an art called ‘collage’” “But first I want to show you these…”and she started to pin amazing pictures that made the classes mouths drop. We talked about expressions, Artists stories and design. There was a picture of a sad sailor and another one of an old lady. A boy put up his hand and said “The sailor could be sad of the old lady dyeing!” “Great artist stories!” Said Rei. “We better get started”. Then she told us how to choose stuff. I threw on a plastic bag, look’ in good! Eye out of card board, even better! Nose out of egg carton, better still! Mouth out of newspaper, wow! Hair out of brown material, awesome! “I’m afraid we have to go but take the pictures as tokens.” Said Rei “goodbye”. “GOODBYE!” Roared the class. And then we quietly walked back to class.
